So your thinking about buying a puppy… If you are considering a puppy, please take the time to find the best fit for your family. A puppy may not be it. If you have decided that a puppy is the best fit and you have the time to devote to one, then please make sure that you are well informed on the health problems that a Boxer can have. A responsible breeder will be testing for these health problems to make sure that they are not in their breeding program. A great place to start your search is by contacting your local Boxer rescue group or Boxer Club. They can lead you in the right direction. When contacting breeders be sure to have your list of questions to ask. You will want to make sure that you are getting the best possible dog for your money. There are some questions below to help you start your own list. You also need to specify whether you want a show puppy or a pet puppy. Is the mother or father on site for me to meet? (You need to meet at least one of the above to see their temperament.) How many times has the mother been breed and how old is she? (She should only be breed two to three times. She should be between two and six.) What are your plans for the white or checked puppies? (A responsible breeder will place these on a spay/neuter contract. Believe it or not, some breeders do kill them.) Why did you breed, and what trait are you looking to correct in your line? What health tests have you done? (See the American Boxer Club for health problems in Boxers.) Are you keeping a puppy? What are your plans for a pet puppy? (A pet puppy should be sold on a spay/neuter contract.) Do you show your dogs in conformation? (Reputable breeders will show their dogs in conformation to make sure that they are to the AKC’s standards for the breed.) |

We have started Nova’s health testing and it will be completed before she is breed. At this time we do not have any litters. |
